Created by the Association “Gens d’Images” in 1955, the Nadar prize is a yearly award honoring the best book about contemporary or historical photography and published in France. It recognizes the year’s most successful photographic publications.
The 2010 Jury led by Gaëlle Mauduit presented its selection on
November 25. It chose the book “D’après Nature” printed in June 2010 and published by Xavier Barral with pictures by Jean Gaumy and text by René Daumal.
This intimate look at the countryside through black and white
pictures, at times nearly abstract, is the result of several years of
solitary walks through the western Piémont mountains. The jury also awarded a special mention to Maxence Rifflet’s “Une route un chemin” published by Le Point du jour. Bernard Perrine
