Les Photographiques
Organized by the Association “Festival de l’Image” and presided by Yves Brés, the central theme of Les Photographiques 2011 will be “figures of women.” We should not expect to see photographs taken exclusively by women, but photographs that represent women in their diverse activities, as defined by Yves Brés.
“The work of the photographers (women and men) that we are hosting brings us to question the images: mutation of social roles, critiques on traditional models or those born from marketing, disillusionment with daily life, affirmation of personal identity, demand for equality and the right to be different… In all cases, they’ve jostled the stereotypes. By way of their diversity, they interogate us on our own representations.”
At the Palais des Congres et Culture, we can see the exhibitions “Fragments of Time” by Bernard Descamps or “Sinabre” by Christine Lefèbure.
At the park Théodore Monod: “Aunt Juliette” by Denis Dailleux, and “uncertain age” by Aurélia Blanc. At the Centre des Expositions Paul Courboulay will be “The Life of Emma” by Franck Boucher, “Correlations” by Aglaé Bory, “Domestic Exiles/Sweet Home” by Caroline Boyer and "Women out of the veil” by Isabelle Eshraghi, “My story is war” by Juliette Guillemot and “Figures of women” by Laurent Delhaye. Finally in the Tourist Office, (l’office de tourisme) “Liberated Women” by William Dupuy.
A meeting with the photographers is scheduled for Friday 25th March at 6:30 PM at the Centre Paul Courboulay, and will be about “A question of image: photography of disabled persons”.
