The Paradise of
Nedjma Berder
10 “saturated” and colorful portraits, resulting from work by the men and women of Guinée-Bissau. An homage to a fragile universe, “6mois” opens up to the world.
“Rejecting classical teaching methods, Nedjma Berder fled to boat-school when he turned 11. He became a sailor, and drifted until he was 25. He continued as a television cameraman, and worked occasionally as Director of Photography for fiction movies.
In Douarnenez, his home port, he docked his sailboat: a corvette that is as old as he (40) with four beds, enough for his two children, ages 5 and 8.”
