The Walther Collection now has a second space in New York City, in Chelsea. Appropriately called the Walther Collection Project Space it opened April 14, 2011 with an exhibition of the work of South African photographer Jo Ractliffe. It is an exhibit that explores loss, hope and longing, as well as memory and desire.
“As Terras do Fim do Mondo” (The Lands of the End of the World) presents a unique portfolio of black and white platinum prints documenting the artist’s journeys through the deserted and war-torn remains of the Angolan countryside in the last five years following the end of the country’s civil war. With this space and exhibition the Walther Collection extends its mission and program to U.S. audiences.
