Organized for the Sipec (Syndicat des entreprises de l'image, de la photo et de la communication) by the Comexposium group, the Salon de la photo will take place from October 6 – 10 in Hall 4 of the Paris Porte de Versailles Trade Complex.

As in previous years, it ambitiously hopes to be the “French rendez-vous for all photography and photographers”. New products and new techniques will be demonstrated by professionals discussing their work processes. Among them, Jean-Louis Bloch-Lainé, Marie-Laure de Decker, Véronique de Viguerie, Guillaume Herbaut, William Klein, Olivier Laban-Mattei, Sacha and Peter Knapp or Patrick Tournebouef.

This year’s Guest of Honor is Karl Lagerfeld who is presenting 30 portraits including previously unrevealed images from fashion, music and cinema... As curator, he selected 30 prints from the collections of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie.

The salon will present the groundbreaking exhibition from the JCII Japanese Camera Museum, “30 years of Digital Cameras”. The collection begins in 1981 with the first “Mavica” which was the first step towards digital photography.

This year’s Salon campaign poster was created by photographer Chrisma Lan, a former student of Helmut Newton and Nick Knight. She currently has personal exhibitions on display in France and Germany.
