My name is Núria Altarriba, I'm from Barcelona, Spain and I'm 31 years old. I began to be interested in photography when I was a teenager and I've found my dad's old Ricoh. Years later I began to study photography at Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfcs de Catalunya, in Barcelona.
Since I fnished the courses I've started working as a photographer. I use to do portraits, still life and social events. Aside from the comercial photo, I have personal projects like On the landing, that allows me to explain my thinkings or sensations. On the landing talks about the contemporary city and how we live in. I'm focused on people, the way we share the space and with who. For that reason I took these portraits in the landing. This is a very special place: a “no place” that means the limit from public area to a private one, our home. We pass through the landing every day but we don't do anything there, just pass through. We share the landing with a lot of people that we don't know, people who lives so close, perhaps less than a few meters from our home, our refuge. But we will never know them.
The project's pictures are ideally located between the people and the places. I was shooting during two years, in Barcelona's metropolitan area, but it does'nt really matter, it could be any other city...
