Sylvain Granjon is French. Born in 1971, he currently lives in Paris.
Self-taught, he works with a Leica, with film. The first SLUTWALK,
initiated in Toronto on April 3, 2011, was a spontaneous response to
the sexist comments of Michael Sanguinetti, a Canadian police officer
investigating a series of rapes committed on campus at the University
of York. He suggested that if women didn’t want to get raped, they
shouldn’t dress like sluts. SLUTWALKS are peaceful demonstrations
against sexism, violence against women, and the belittling of rape.
Every day in France, 137 women are raped, 1 in ten women will suffer
from sexual violence and every two and one half days, a woman dies
from injuries from a current or former partner. (SLUTWALKFRANCE
