Reflection in a mirror
My interest in photography began when I was a child, because my grandfather was a photographer and his home was always full of photographs and cameras. Since then they caught my attention, I was intrigued to see those people of the past. Over time I studied photography at the School of Art Pamplona, after that I got a scholarship at the University Miguel Hernandez in Elche, where I finished the title of expert in Visual Arts: Photography and Creative Action. And now I'm doing the Postgraduate course in Direction of Photography in Films and HD, CPA (Center for Media Production) supported by the University of San Jorge Zaragoza.
Reflection in a mirror
Reflections are the remembrance of the past, and mirrors return a reflection, which is our past, our memory, our identity, ourselves.
I have fond memories as a child, I remember I was always excited when I went to my grandparents' house. I spent days and days disarranging things that I found and that were like treasures to me. Later I showed them to my family, they actually became surprised to see those things and they told me stories about them.
In fact they had forgotten these treasures and some day the house will be forgotten as well and also the people that had spent their lives there.
Every corner of the house, every object, calls me powerfully. There is something or someone there ... that captivates me. I get in touch with these ordinary things and their energy arouses my imagination and my way of feeling. Here they are, the essence of things and loved ones living a little more through our memories.
There are many good memories and good times where we all were present. This is why I believe that this project is important, I don’t want to forget my family and especially my grandfather.
I photograph to remember, this is the link between the past and me. With this project I achieve to keep alive my past and understand my present.
