“Water can become steam or ice.” This observation, made by the young artist in Finland where she pursued her desire to work with images, following a solid background in philosophy, is at the heart of her exploration. An interrogation of identity, sexual among others, since everything is possible and choices are the result of complex alloys of circumstance, encounters, feeling and perception, and will power. With an intelligent and refined use of color, in rare transparencies that reveal both the portrait of young people and apparently calm landscapes, the former student of the École d’Arles, who presently pursues her research at the Studio du Fresnoy, combines photography and video. She does not offer us an ideal world – although it is extremely beautiful – but rather an interrogation, apparently serene, about who we are and who we have always been.
