Pierre Champion and Françoise Kusel, auctioneers in Nimes, will be running the sale of photographs by Eugène Atget to be held on Saturday, December 3 at 2pm, in the city’s Hôtel des Ventes. Under the expertise of Yves Di Maria, this auction will be offering diverse lots focusing on specific regions (Camargue, Gard, Ardèche…) or of colonial troops in Africa (lots 300 à 313). Lots 314 – 343 include 30 pictures of Paris gathered in 1918 by a former curator from the Louvre. The collection has since been kept in his family. It includes several prints of key locations in the French capital. From the rue de Venise, where the Pompidou Center now stands, to the nearby rue Brisemiche or the impasse Barbette.

Or, on the other side of the Seine, the Luxembourg gardens, Saint Séverin, Saint Julien le Pauvre, the rue Galande, the cour du Dragon or the cour de Rohan.

Print size and enthusiasm will determine prices ranging between 600 / 800 € to 4000 / 5000 € for lot 326 "Rue Galande" 1899.
