The reportage from Zeppelin french photo agency Gold in the Gutters on exhibit at the Maison de la photographie de Lille which had been featured at an evening projection of Visa pour l’image in Perpignan, and was published in several European countries.

Gutters are not known for their conviviality, but in Dhaka, their content is inviting to the bold. No one pays attentions to this handful of men, muddy from head to toe, but they are indeed looking for gold. Gold dust flushed down the drains by busy jewelers. Not enough to attract crowds, but enough to nourish a few families. Every morning, taking advantage of the deserted streets, they open the pipes of Shakari Bazar, the old Hindu neighborhood. They carefully skim off the mud and extract the gold , far from indiscreet stares.
