It was a cold and rainy night. That is not the beginning of Snoopy's latest novel but the weather in New York last Thursday for the opening of Holly Andres's latest body of work "The Fall of Spring Hill" at the Robert Mann Gallery. The Portland, Oregon based photographer had friends from the West Coast and some weather resistant New Yorkers to see a group of photos that use family and friends, adults and children, to create short dramas. I found the tension between the photos of the children and their lightness and spontaneity and the photos of the adults with their deliberateness and sense of purpose to be intriguing and engaging.
