Back to the Farm
We all attended the Paris International Agricultural Show, for the occasion, we decided to publish Claudine Coupé:
Breton through and through, I love the ocean, listening to the wind, traveling, laughing, discovering, dreaming and telling stories.
“Snow falls on a farm in Lohennec.
Yvon was 16 when he took the farm over from his parents. Today, at 50, he takes pride in his dairy cows, and has become one of the largest dairy producers in Finistère. After relentless years of milking his cows twice a day, working in the field until nightfall with no weekend and no vacation, his iron will is as strong as ever.
But the bills are piling up. He works at a loss. Dairy strikes, protest banners, meetings, negotiations—to no avail. Farmers simply can’t hold their own against the all-powerful dairy industry.
Desperate, he has decided to sell his 70 cows, along with a piece of his soul. Neither of his children can take over.
Snow falls on a farm in Lohennec.
Yvan doesn’t know what tomorrow brings, but he still has a smile and a head full of ideas.
Tomorrow will be different.”
