As you might have noticed from reading a previous auction announcement, perhaps the result of the internet’s influence, a new concept for the sale of photographic prints seems to be emerging. Five hundred lots ranging from 60 to 400 euros will be sold at the Million Auction House headquarters on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 2pm.

For expert Christophe Goeury who selected the 500 lots, “Photography for Everybody” is designed to allow a new generation of collectors to acquire prints at an accessible price. Among the lots offered will be vintage prints, prints on salt and albumin paper, featuring themes as varied as travel, people, cinema, and out of the ordinary shots… In addition to anonymous prints, some of the major signatures include Baldus, Germaine Krull, André Kertész, Robert Doisneau or Blanc and Demilly…

A “wave” for all, for it includes a contretype printed on albumin paper of a legendary ocean view taken by Le Gray in 1880 and estimated at 400€.

The sale will open with several important photographic books including a series of Daguerréotypes and a few Lumière autochromes.
