Kourtney Roy

Borderline between art and fashion, Kourtney Roy combines fiction with self-portrait, exploring the strange aspects of daily life through the characters she incarnates,some exceedingly perfect women locked in banality. Absent from themselves, these women are featured in installations where the bizarre occupies the space. The atmosphere becomes a reflection of the psychological state.

Kourtney Roy was born in Canada in 1981 where she was raised. She studied at the Fine Arts school, quickly taking up photography for its immediacy and its strong link to reality. She began by taking pictures of herself, focusing on the link between the photographer and the model, specifically the relationship between vision and power.

Kourtney Roy lives and works in Paris.
