Martine Franck: Regards de Femme II

"Southern France, noon, August 15th. I went to a friend's house to swim. Fortunately I had my camera around my neck. I first saw the shadow, and I realized that I had to hurry to get this photo. It is pretty rare to have a photo present itself, but at that time I realized that I had to hurry. I adjusted my camera to the fast shutter speed and ran. It was worth running because I had just enough time to snap 4 shots. The man rolled out of the hammock and the moment was over. Strangely, this photograph is probably my most famous. There is usually a sort of consensus about "good photos". I don't really know why this one is popular. Maybe because it illustrates relaxation, happiness, holiday, and invites one to dream."
