Anne Golaz’s photographs deal with the fundamental and fragile relation with nature, animals and death. In "Metsästä" (From The Woods) she invites the viewer to meet with a suggested world vacillating between common and extraordinary sceneries related to Finnish culture and its connection to forests. It is a story both amazing and chilling, where men are hunting absent preys, devoting themselves to magic and decadent rituals, while female characters become fascinating and timeless icons. Without any conclusive intention the photographs serve an emotional expression rather than a strictly documentary process, challenging the photographic genres with a central interest in the use of light as a powerful tool for dramatiza- tion and narrative.
Realized mainly in Finland this work gradually developed into a personal exploration of a new territory. An initiation.

The first main work of the 1983 born photographer "Rural Scenes" has been exhibited mainly in Switzerland and France since 2008.
The series "Chasses" (Hunting Games) was published by Infolio in 2010 and among the selected works for the Aperture Portfolio Prize in New York.
