The rules remain unchanged for this third edition, students from European photography schools are invited in July for ten days of residency at the villa Namouna facing the sea. Their only subject : Deauville. It is their creative spirit, their imagination and visual language that will set them apart before both jury and public. This year, we will be welcoming eight students, from, amongst other countries, Russia, Argentina, and Italy, and two new schools, the Ecole nationale supérieure de la photographie d’Arles which is celebrating it’s 30th year, and FORMA who, in association with the Milan Beaux Arts, is one of the rare places in Italy to offer a photographic training.
A jury of important figures from the photography world, presided over by Bettina Rheims, will be offering one of them a scholarship and above all the right to enter the big league for the next edition of Planche(s) Contact. A sign of recognition, certainly, but also of confidence, and a way of accompanying a photographer in the making.
