Valérie Archeno is one of the winners of the SFR Jeunes Talents Paris Photo 2012.
This former assistant to Sarah Moon prepared her project for Paris Photo on the theme “Of all this we know so little.” Her dreamlike night scenes are visions of a hard life. “The visuals are impossible to describe,” as Christian Caujolle wrote in issue No. 11 of the magazine Shot.

In the Taka Ishii gallery (Tokyo), I noticed a beautiful vintage Daido Moriyama print, “Kariudo (Hunter)” (20x29cm, 30,000€), as well as a small print from Eiko Hosoe’s Man and Woman series (10,000€).

On the Baudoin Lebon stand, there is a rare must-see piece: the first interview with the chemist Michel-Eugène Chevreul by Nadar, on the occasion of his 100th anniversary. Conducted on August 31, 1886, the interview was published in the September 5, 1886, edition of Le journal illustré.
Two copies of this montage exist: this one, and the one belonging to the Chevreul family, which was exhibited the Exposition Universelle of 1889.
It is being sold for 200,000€, but as the gallerist says somewhat bitterly from his cramped stand, it would be easier to sell a large color print for a million dollars than to sell this unique piece.

The Magnin-A gallery offered a limited edition Louis Vuitton box set, containing a book and a small Seydou Keita print. The 50 copies are available for 2,500€ each.

Another rare item is for sale at Howard Greenberg (New York), two platinum prints by William Klein: "Simone + Painting +Coffee" and” Nina + Simone, Piazza di Spagna, Rome” from 1960. Fifteen prints are each being sold for 11,600€ excluding VAT.

At the Françoise Paviot gallery, a pinhole photograph of an insect, by Ian Paterson. Gelatin silver print, 15 copies.

Finally, an exhibition called Imprimés 1964 - 2012, presented by the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne and curated by Antoine de Beaupré and Jean-Christophe Blaser, offers a reading of works by Bernd and Hilla Becher through their printed work (books, catalogues, limited editions, brochures, invitations, posters).
