Narcís Darder et Ricard Duran - Barcelone
This exhibition is devoted to the work of two photographers working at the same time, the 1960s, and the same place, Barcelona, but whose photographs are characterized by different approaches. Narcís Darder captured fleeting moments in the streets on the city, while Ricard Duran spent more time preparing his elaborate photographs.
Two exhibitions organized by the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia contributed to an increased recognition of these two artists. Featuring a hundred photographs, these shows were the starting point for a series of other initiatives aiming to promote a reexamination their work, which is not only of great documentary and aesthetic interest, but of historical interest as well: both Darder and Duran were active during a troubled time in Catalonian history.
