Fausto Giaccone, born in 1943, grew up in Palermo, Sicily, and was graduated in architecture.
His photographic activity began in 1968 during the students revolt in Rome which appeared in various Italian newspapers. In october 1968 he was the first to made a reportage about Palestinian fedayn in Jordan and published it in Paris Match.
Since the early Eighties, Giaccone has been doing free-lance photo-journalism, with emphasis on social and cultural aspects especially of South America and the Mediterranean area. From 1995 is a contributor of Anzenberger Agency, in Wien.
His work has appeared in the most important european magazines.
He will publish a photobook about Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s Colombia in 2012.
