On May 9, 2012, the Tribunal de Grande Instance d'Aix-en-Provence announced a photography auction by order of the court. This auction will be conducted on December 19 at the Hôtel Drouot in Paris by Yann Le Mouel under the expertise of Viviane Esders.

The collection for sale is comprised mainly of 19th-century photographs, although one-third of the items are more contemporary. The items have no reserve price. The highlights of the sale are: an album containing 105 silver prints related to the Dreyfus Affair (est. 20,000 - 30,000€); an 1864 album by Adolphe Terris featuring 52 albumin-paper prints taken in Marseille (est. 10,000 - 12,000€); a carbon print of Albert Rudomine’s “Nu féminin de dos” c. 1930 (est. 1500 - 2500€); and several prints by Man Ray, Willy Ronis, Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Robert Doisneau, Lucien Clergue and Guy Bourdin, among others.
