Les plafonds de verre
Philippe Dugay works on the decontextualization of objects. His constructions float between light and darkness, between reality and fiction. In this inside outside dialogue, the pictures of landscapes and interiors, taken in a tangible and familiar reality, focus on the space around houses. With a meticulous know-how, the artist plays and juggles with the imaginary and the real, the fabricated and the natural.
Philippe Dugay was born in Angers and lives and works in Le Mans. A graduate of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Nantes, he painted for ten years before working in photography. His years of painting left formal traces of how he approaches matter, light, lines and composition. He tends to focus on invented objects.
