Nature humaine collects the fragments of memories that remain with Samuel Guigues from the cities he has explored. For Guigues, the city extends out as an observatory of human nature, and its residents are most visible at night.
In Nature humaine, Guigues reveals mankind through the allegorical mis-en-scène of wild animals. This symbolic representation leads the viewer to reflect on man’s place in society and his environment.
In addition to his commissioned work in advertising and the media, this young photographer is developing his own personal style based on fiction. His creations are the result of a profound reflection on light, his subjects, and the symbolism of places. His references to art history, his conceptual approach and his use of digital retouching to illustrate contemporary themes make Guigues a compelling example of a new generation of photographers.
Nature humaine will be on display from March 28 to June 30, 2013, for Marseille 2013 Off.
