Claudine Sudre died on January 9, 2013, in Aix-en-Provence. She was 88. Sudre was born on May 17, 1925. Paris paid tribute to her work last fall with the exhibition (Les Sudre, une famille de photographe), presented as part of the Month of Photography. Sudre witnessed the preparations for the event, although she was unable to attend in person. The exhibition was previously on view in Lyon in 2010. Her son Dominique was the first to pay her tribute, with the January 2010 exhibition Les grands photographes du 19e siècle, which he devoted to her.

Sudre was buried next to Jean-Pierre Sudre, in the Grand Saint-Jean cemetery in Aix-en-Provence.
