"The selected photographs show an undeniable ability for framing. This is a skill which creates different levels of meaning within the image and a meticulousness which is particularly necessary when viewing an architectural space such as the one you have chosen." Marta Dahó - Independant Curator, Barcelona
Dragan Marković was born in Belgium in 1982. He discovered photography at the age of 19 and began his studies at the Ecole de Recherche Graphique in 2002, where he came in contact with contemporary art and art photography. In 2008, he exhibited in Serbia, his country of origin. He subsequently worked for publishers and for Médecins sans Frontières, published in Le Monde Diplomatique Portugal and, in 2010, again exhibited in Brussels. Since finishing his studies in 2006, he has been working in various fields, seeking their limits and their points of contact. He compares retouching to musical post-production. In other words, it is a matter of fine tuning, which can create a whole range of perceptions and interferences. For the last 4 years, he's been focusing on architecture and urbanism which he both admires and criticizes with his hyperformalist way of framing.
