I was just a kid when Bill Connors first photographed me for a Glamour magazine cover in the late l960s. We developed a special personal relationship that lasted until his recent death. He took me under his wing and cared for me and loved me as a person; it's important for a young model to be treated kindly and with respect. Bill was a very good photographer, and his lighting was always gorgeous, but the real reason he got such great pictures is that he made you feel so good. That's as important as working hard. He was always funny and lively, and even today, if l am in a boring situation, I'll think, How would Bill deal with this? He was so helpful to me both in my life and my career, and was such an influence on me, that he's become a part of me.
