To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Indian cinema, the Delhi Art Gallery exhibited 250 iconic prints by Nemai Ghosh, Satyajit Ray’s official photographer. The gallery presented other famous photographs from Indian cinema, selected from the 120,000 images in Ghosh’s personal collection, which it acquired in 2006. There are photographs on set in Mumbai and Bengal, portraits of stars, and legendary scenes from Hindi and Bengali films. Ghosh offers an exceptional, visual account of the golden age of Indian cinema.
The exhibition is expected to tour Mumbai and Calcutta in 2013.
