Exhibition
São Paulo: Nati Canto
La neige, le sel, la pluie
An enigmatic atmosphere hangs over this exhibition, the first to be held in 2013 as part of the “New Photography” project at the São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound. Photographer Nati Canto's show, A Neve, o Sal, a Chuva – Lembranças Particulares e Coletivas (Snow, Salt, Rain – Personal and Collective Memories), presents images from three series taken with a digital camera and a homemade lens.
The first series, Rain, was shot on the coastline near São Paulo in 2010, while the second, Salt (2011), depicts the Salar de Uyuni salt flats in Bolivia. The third part of the exhibition, Snow, was taken last year in the Chinese city of Harbin. The exhibition invites the viewer to experience a spare world whose anonymous characters seem unreal.
