Death of Martine Franck

Martine Franck has passed away. The news is all the more horrible because it was expected. Martine had been ill for a long while, but with her extraordinary reserve and exceptional elegance, she did not want it to be known. Tomorrow, later, we will tell you more about her.
Today is a day to mourn, as we think of Mélanie, the daughter of Martine and Henri. And we think of the memories: of times at 198-200 rue de Rivoli, the dinners chez Davé, lunches in the Luberon, Henri's excesses and fits of anger that Martine tempered so well, her recent exhibitions in New York, and a few images from Arles at parties thrown by Maryse Cordesse.
The forest of spirits we have loved and admired grows thicker.
Je vous embrasse Martine.
