Trying to present photography in France from 1950 to 2000 would seem to be a near impossible task. Two curators, however, Gilles Mora and Alain Sayag, brilliantly met the challenge by placing the photographers and their work in the forms in which they were originally presented: in magazines, daily newspapers, posters, books and exhibitions. They expertly point out the hidden and sometimes daring connections among them, allowing viewers to see them differently, and giving them new meaning. In the exhibition, we follow the progression of photography as a medium of information and communication.
