To finance projects for publications and other contemporary productions related to Nicéphore, cahier de photographies, and also to grant new collectors access to the photography market, Serge Plantureux is organizing a two-day auction with Binoche et Giquello.

The sale will feature a selection of prints, photography archives, recent discoveries, previously unknown photographs, and some primitive treasures. The 500 lots all share the same starting bid of 500 euros. “A uniform starting bid allow both veteran and first-time buyers to focus on their selection.” The sale will be held on December 13 and 14, 2012, in Salle 9 of the Hôtel Drouot, where the photographs will be on display the morning of the sale from 11:00 to 12:00, and on December 12 from 11:00 to 18:00.

The first day of the sale will feature prints dating from before the First World War. The second day will focus on photographs from 1914 to the advent of digital, with prints from X, Y, Z. A paper copy of the two-volume catalogue Photographies du monde entier, prepared by Antoine Romand, is available at Binoche et Giquello.
