On January 14, 2013, at the Jeu de Paume in Paris, the Prix Roland Barthes 2012 was awarded to Élisa Baitelli for her Master’s thesis, “L'image du fait divers dans la revue "Détective" de 1928 à 1940.” A special mention was given to Nelly Taravel for her thesis, “La photographie publiée des tableaux monochromes.”

The Prix Roland Barthes is awarded every two years to theses concerning photography. Organized by Le Point with the support of Neuflize Vie, the prize grants the winner 5,000€ and the publication of his or her thesis.
